Specifications
Solid wood cabinet top – 7/8” thick.
Solid wood drawer fronts - 3/4” thick.
Solid wood main legs – 3” wide x 2” thick.
Extension table top and leaves utilize a solid lumber core center covered in a select veneer for stability and consistency of quality.
The remainder of the unit uses select hardwood veneer over multi-layered plywood—we do not use particleboard or fiberboard.
Solid brass ring pull hardware is mortised into the fronts.
Ball-bearing slides are used on the flipper drawer front as well as the utility drawer box.
Hidden European-style self-closing hinges are used on the storage area doors.
Solid brass ball catches on the flipper drawer front and the doors provide a secure, positive snap-shut action.
A unique, hidden hinge system is used on the table leaves to protect the faces when stored and to facilitate the opening of the leaves for easy use.
A unique magnet system is inset into the edges of the leaves to keep them together when the table is extended.
A Velcro tab is used on the last leaf to prevent the table from shifting when fully extended.
Custom-made solid hard maple table slides are waxed to provide a smooth, full extension of the table top.
The support leg system is on small rollers to assist in the extension of the table.
The main leg system has nylon tack feet to ease in the opening and to eliminate marking the floor.
The leaves are stored on graphite tracks to reduce marking and ease in sliding them in and out.
Each unit is hand stained and has 3 coats of durable, catalyzed lacquer applied.

Unique in several ways
We are the first to use a hidden hinge to keep the table leaves together. This also protects them when stored since they are always good-face-to-good-face when closed.
We also use the magnets inlaid into the edges of the tabletop and leaves to keep the sections together during use.
The flipper glide on the top-drawer front is very reliable and is used on large entertainment doors. This means a very strong and time-tested flipper that, if ever needed, has adjustment opportunities built into it.
The ball-bearing slides on the utility drawer are rated at 80 lbs. capacity and are well suited for anything that may be stored in this drawer, i.e., a chest of silverware for example.
The lower area has 1 adjustable shelf but we can easily add another for use as a stereo cabinet. Wire management would need to be addressed for this use.
The top is supported by a 1” thick by 2” wide cross-member of solid wood across the front—to prevent sagging for many years to come.
The solid wood top could be replaced with marble, granite or a solid-surface man-made material, if requested.
The Manhattan Clam is made with Pennsylvania Cherry, stained with our own unique blend of R-CherryTree. There are many color finishes available upon request.
